The list of fantastic bars in South Lake Union keeps growing. Chef Renee Erickson, whose Sea Creatures company runs Willmott’s Ghost and Deep Dive in The Spheres, is setting up shop in the long vacant Kiki Ramen location in The Regrade. Her latest venture, King Leroy, pays homage to classic Northwest bars with its 1970s vibe.
King Leroy also celebrates Erickson’s close relationship with Portland chef Cameron Addy, who passed suddenly in 2020. The bar’s name, and much of its menu, is influenced by Addy.
“We want the space to feel like a big hug—a place where folks can feel at home, a place where people can have fun, eat wings, watch the game, listen to music, maybe even sing karaoke. These were Cameron’s favorite types of places, and we are going to do our best to honor him here,” Erickson said.
