After a long year of takeout only and temporary closures of restaurants across Seattle, newly opened Momiji SLU is setting the stage for dining scene comeback in the neighborhood. The gorgeous new space, located in Amazon’s Nitro North building (731 Bell Street) at The Regrade, offers a clean, modern vibe with natural elements throughout.
The restaurant’s interior is as pleasing to the eye as its food — Momiji SLU serves up the freshest fish in its sushi and sashimi offerings, giving diners pops of red, pink, and silver on a plate. One of the special features of Momiji’s menu is a solid vegetarian sushi selection (think red bell pepper nigiri, portabella rolls, and more). Specialty rolls include the Ultimate Dragon (snow crab mix, avocado, and cucumber, topped with half an eel, tobiko, sesame seeds and a soy glaze) and, if you love spice, the Hot as Hell (spicy tuna, yamagobo, and cilantro topped with 7-spice seared tuna, scallions, habanero, tobiko, and habanero-citrus-truffle oil).
