Our mission is to alleviate the effects of poverty, hunger, homelessness, and addiction by providing community-based social services to those in need.
ICS operates four programs: a Food Bank, a Community Lunch, a Hygiene Center, and a residential Recovery Program.
Community Lunch
Once a month Immanuel Community Services (ICS) opens our doors and offers a hot nutritious meal to anyone who is hungry. We serve anywhere from 100-200 diners during this meal and despite the fact that we never know who will show up … we’ve always had enough food. The meal is served on the last Sunday of the month, when many of our neighbors have run out of money for the month and they look forward to a good meal served in a welcoming atmosphere. Our doors open at noon except in the summer (June, July and August) when we open at 11:00 am. Everyone is welcome.
Food Bank
Immanuel Community Services operates a Food Bank that serves approximately 325-400 clients (120-150 families) per month. We are open the last two Monday mornings of every month, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Hygiene Center
The ICS Hygiene Center, located in the gymnasium of Immanuel Lutheran Church, provides the opportunity for homeless men and women to wash their clothes, take a shower, and spend the morning in a warm, safe, and clean environment. The Center is open weekdays from 8:00 am to noon.
Recovery Program
Our Recovery Program and Shelter of Immanuel Community Services provides a safe, supportive, clean, and sober living environment for adult men who are working to overcome addiction to drugs and/or alcohol. Up to 14 men at a time, many who are homeless as a result of their addictions, are invited to stay with us as long as they remain clean and sober.
Hour of operation vary. Contact us to make an appointment to tour our space!
