Please join us as we welcome Chef Shaun McCrain of Copine for a special evening as we celebrate our students, build community and enjoy an incredible meal.
Guest Chef Night pairs premier local chefs with FareStart students to create a three-course meal served by volunteers. All revenue and donations from Guest Chef Night support FareStart’s job training programs.
Originally from Eugene, Oregon Shaun McCrain returned to the Pacific Northwest after working in some of the best kitchens in the world. A graduate of Seattle Central Community College he started his career at the Painted Table. His career path has led him to Masa’s and La Folie in San Francisco as well as Elysees du Vernet and Taillevent in Paris. In 2004 he was hired as part of the opening team of Thomas Keller’s Per Se in New York City, where he rose to the position of Executive Sous Chef.
In 2010 Shaun accepted the position of Chef at Book Bindery Restaurant here in Seattle. After four years leading that kitchen, he and his wife Jill Kinney departed to begin work on Copine.
Copine offers contemporary American cuisine executed with classical French technique and attention to detail. We also prepare a curated selection of items available for take away that we call Copine Project, which include our popular Sunday Suppers.
Copine was a finalist for the 2023 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Restaurant.
Tickets will be released May 29 at 12pm.
