The first migrants from the Indian subcontinent to North American arrived in the Pacific Northwest 19th century. South Asian migrants formed the Ghadar Party in 1913 to fight the colonial regime, using newspapers and literature as tools of resistance.
Join Nalini Iyer, co-author of Roots and Reflections: South Asian Americans in the Pacific Northwest for an exploration of how contemporary South Asian Americans revisit histories of resistance in their literary imaginings.
