Are You Ready for a Dance Parade?

Don’t miss Khambatta Dance Company’s upcoming neighborhood performance.

On December 11, Khambatta Dance Company will take to the streets of South Lake Union to for an immersive popup dance experience. Dancers from the group will perform in five different locations:

  • 400 Fairview (covered patio at Fairview & Harrison)
  • Terry & Harrison (sidewalks in front of Cactus & Portage Bay)
  • 415 Westlake/Kakao (outdoor space adjacent to building)
  • Sam’s Tavern (outdoor plaza at 9th & Harrison)
  • The Collective (outdoor patio at Dexter & Harrison)

Community businesses and the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce are partnering with the company to present “Iconic,” a new coffee book featuring beautiful images of Khambatta Dance Company performing “A Dance View of SLU.” That program, which debuted in fall 2020, highlighted the company’s dancers in motion with SLU landmarks and iconic art works.

“Dancers will be performing at these specific locations but will also dance to and from each location to the next. Audiences are invited to follow along (like the Pied Piper) and can even dance along the trail the dancers create from one site to the next. At each site, the participating merchants will be giving out free dance art coffee table books to those who make any purchase within a set time of the performance at that location,” explained Cyrus Khambatta, the company’s founder.

Don’t miss a chance to support neighborhood businesses and local artists on Saturday, December 11 from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.
