Seattle’s Fall Boats Afloat Show

Save the date for this nautical extravaganza.

South Lake Union is set to turn into a maritime wonderland from September 14‑17. If you’re a boat enthusiast, an aspiring sailor, or just looking for a fantastic family outing, mark your calendars. This year’s Fall Boats Afloat Show promises to be more exciting than ever—it features its biggest line-up of luxury and performance boats in over a decade.

A Flotilla of Fun for Everyone
With over 160 boats on display, the event is more than just a boat show—it’s a festival celebrating the Pacific Northwest’s boating culture. Thanks to the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association (NYBA), the show comes alive with high-quality exhibitors, gastronomical delights, and live jazz music. Whether you’re window-shopping for a future yacht or curious about the latest nautical gadgets, there’s something for everyone. Plus, kids under 12 get free admission.

Cheers to Women and Warriors
In a nod to the increasing number of women in boating, this year introduces “Women’s Day” on September 14 with special discounted tickets. Also, in a heartwarming partnership with Salmon for Soldiers, the event offers free fishing activities for veterans and active-duty military personnel. Show your support by buying raffle tickets; you might win something cool while contributing to a noble cause.

Sail Away on a Learning Adventure
If you’ve always wanted to sail but didn’t know where to start, the Seattle Sailing Club has got you covered. They’re offering “Intro to Sailing” courses each day of the show. Want something a little less structured? Free sailboat rides are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Kids Ahoy!
While adults explore the sophisticated world of yachting, kids can set their imaginations afloat at The Center for Wooden Boats. Offering free workshops over the weekend, youngsters will get to build their own toy boats and take them home.

Music and Munchies
As you stroll along the docks, ready your tastebuds for award-winning seafood tacos from Five Hooks Seafood and the original “Seattle Dog” from Dog in the Park. Need a pick-me-up? The U Café Coffee Cart is serving lattes and treats. For those wanting something a bit stronger, Party on the Rocks has a full bar featuring craft cocktails, beers, and exclusive wines.

Boats That’ll Make You Swoon
Among the head-turners at the show is the luxurious 76-foot Azimut “EQUITES” yacht. For adventure seekers, the NEEL 43 Performance Cruising Trimaran is faster than most sailboats and offers an extraordinary living space.
